| VOLUNTEER
AWARDS
In recognition of the outstanding
service and contributions of "Friends
For Life" volunteers, Carolina Donor
Services grants three annual awards in the
Fall.
I. Charles Jeffries
Volunteer of the Year Award
The Charles Jeffries
Award honors the memory of Charles W. Jeffries
who served on the CDS board, chaired the
CDS Public Education Committee, and dedicated
his life to educating the public on the
benefits of organ and tissue donation.
Three Charles Jeffries Awards
are presented each fall: one in each of
the Eastern, Central, and Western regions
of North Carolina. Nominations are reviewed
by a selection committee and are considered
on the basis of volunteer passion, commitment,
and dedication. Fellow volunteers and CDS
staff may make nominations.
II. Team Leader
Award
One Team Leader Award
is presented for each of the CDS service
regions. Outstanding team leaders are recognized
for their work and dedication in organizing
and motivating their teams to promote the
mission of Carolina Donor Services. Volunteers
and CDS staff may make team leader of the
year award nominations.
III. Special Achievement
Award
A Special Achievement
Award may be presented to a volunteer who
makes a special contribution to save lives
through organ and tissue donation. Through
special events or activities, these individuals
go beyond the typical call of duty. Volunteers
and CDS staff may make nominations.
