Be a Friends for Life Ambassador

“I think a hero is any person really intent on making this a better place for all people.” ~ Maya Angelou

Are you a transplant recipient, donor family member, transplant candidate or caregiver of a recipient who would like to tell others about the gift of life? If so, Carolina Donor Services’ Friends’ for Life Ambassador program may be right for you!

Our Friends for Life Ambassador program is a two-tiered, grassroots initiative. We rely on you to identify opportunities to spread the word in your community. In the first tier, our Ambassadors help educate fellow North Carolinians about donation:

  • Participating in health fairs and community donor drives
  • Reaching out to religious groups
  • Identifying other potential Ambassadors
  • Serving as our eyes and ears in their communities by identifying new, innovative ways to reach people with a pro-donation message
Once you have cleared a background check (this typically takes 10 days to 2 weeks to complete), you will receive a link to our online training video, downloadable Ambassador manual and a commitment form. Once that is completed and you have submitted your commitment form, we will reach out and instruct you on how to get started!

If after completing your tier 1 training, you think you might like to do some speaking engagements or even media, we hope you’ll consider attending one of our bi-annual tier 2 trainings. Our next one will take place in October of this year. More details will be shared with all tier 1 volunteers closer to the date.

***If you are only interested in sharing your story but not in attending events, please click here. We love getting your stories to share and inspire others. You do not need to complete a background check if you only wish to do this.
