Each year, across the country, thousands of men, women and children receive a renewed opportunity for life and good health because someone made the decision to donate. We honor, celebrate and recognize donor families and their loved ones for their enormous faith, generosity and courage during our annual Donor Family Tribute ceremonies.
Donor Family Tributes are held each Fall. Currently, we hold three regional celebrations to accommodate our service area. Donor families from the previous year will receive an invitation to attend.
What is a Donor Family Tribute?
Our Donor Family Tribute is an opportunity for you to honor your loved one who was an organ or tissue donor. There will be a reception with light refreshments and time to meet other donor families. You will hear some words from grateful recipient speakers and Carolina Donor Services staff. There will also be an opportunity for you to share a few words about your loved one, present your quilt square if you created one, and view the donor tribute slideshow.
Many donor families enjoy speaking about how their lives have been impacted by organ and tissue donation. Other families simply come and listen to others' stories. Contact us directly if you have questions about what to expect.

Create Your Quilt Square
Each year donor families are invited to prepare a quilt square in honor of their loved one. Your quilt square, combined with those of other donor families, will be assembled to make a donor family quilt. These quilts are displayed at memorial services, special events and educational programs across North Carolina.
